Portugal Win Again in the Olympics

Portugal picked up another win in the Olympic games, this time a hard fought 2-1 win over Honduras.

Alberth Elis opened the scoring for Portugal after 35 seconds played of the game.

Sporting centre-back, currently on loan at Nacional, Tobias Figueiredo headed home to level the game.

Gonçalo Paciência made it 2-1 before half-time and Portugal held on to a win whilst Carlos Mané also made his Olympic debut from the bench.

This win means Rui Jorge’s men qualify for the knockout stage and a draw or better in their final game against Algeria would mean they top the group.

Elsewhere, Teófilo Gutiérrez, now on loan at Rosario Central, scored for Colombia against Japan.
