Yes, it’s finally over – the Elias transfer saga. The protracted dealing has now been closed and the player has rejoined his former club Corinthians.
At times it seemed the transfer was never going to happen and a street fight between Bruno de Carvalho and Eliseu Trindade the more likely outcome.
Corinthians have paid €4m for 50% of the player’s economic rights and 100% of his sporting rights. Should the Brazilian club decide to pay for the player’s future rights then Sporting could recoup the record €8m Godinho Lopes paid for him back in 2011. Elias was also one of the highest paid players at the club and Sporting are set save themselves €8m in the sale of the player.
In his time at Sporting Elias played 49 times scoring 4 goals in the process.
