The partnership between Sporting Clube de Portugal and Real Cartagena is set to be completed in Lisbon this week as representatives from the Colombian club travel over to finalise the deal.
The link between the two clubs will see Sporting getting a partnership in Colombia, a source of exceptional players in recent times, as well as being able to sign players from the club.
For Real Cartagena they will have help with improving their own academy basing it off of the Academia Sporting in Alcochete. Former Sporting player and ex-B team manager José Dominguez will be on his way to Colombia to help implement the system.
Sporting’s first signing from Real Cartagena looks set to be 18-year old defensive midfielder Alexis Escudero who will be moving to the club in January.
