Result: SPORTING B 2-0 Braga B

Abel Ferreira’s Sporting B side returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Braga B. Goals either side of half time from Betinho made the difference.

Abel made changes to his team with Mickaël Meira making his first appearance ahead of Luís Ribeiro. Elsewhere Eric Dier and Iván Piris featured in defence and Filipe Chaby started in midfield.

Despite early dominance at the Academia Sporting (still currently used to save the Alvalade pitch) the B team found it hard to create chances. The break through did come in the 43rd minute when Betinho headed in from an Iván Piris cross.

Just 6 minutes after the restart Diogo Salomão fed in Betinho again for the young striker to get his 9th goal of the season so far.

Braga B were unable to make much headway in the game and indeed Betinho perhaps should have had a hat-trick had it not been for Braga goalkeeper Tiago Sá.

The result sees Sporting B move back into 4th position in what is a very competitive Segunda Liga.
