Farense ended Sporting B’s good run of form in Faro. The B team ended up down to 10 men after Rúben Semedo was sent off.
The home side took the lead early on in the game through João Reis. The 21-year old forward added to his tally just minutes after the half-time whistle as well to make it 2-0 with Rúben Semedo at fault.
Sporting B managed to pull one back thanks to a first professional goal from Wallyson Mallmann after an assist from substitute Wilson Manafá.
Just as Sporting were chasing an equaliser things got worse for Abel’s men. Rúben Semedo was sent off and a penalty to was awarded to Farense. The penalty was duly scored by Ubay Luzardo to seal the win for Farense.
Sporting kept looking to get back into the game and were hit on the counter attack by Farense to make it 4-1 with Ubay Luzardo again getting the goal.
This result ends a great run of form for Sporting B, having been undefeated in their previous 8 games going into this one. Sporting B now drop down to 6th position in the Segunda Liga.
