Ricardo Sá Pinto has just been announced as the new manager of Greek Superleague club OFI Crete. The Heraklion-based club currently sit in the relegation zone after just 7 games gone in the season.
After being fired as Sporting manager early on last season, Sá Pinto had a relatively successful spell in charge of Red Star Belgrade, finishing runners-up in the Serbian SuperLiga, before leaving due to a disagreement with the club’s directors.
In related news, former caretaker manager and recent presidential candidate José Couceiro recently took over the reigns of José Mota at Vitória de Setúbal.
Also, José Dominguez, the former Sporting player who was Ricardo Sá Pinto’s assistant during his B team spell and subsequent manager of the B team, is currently being linked with managerial roles in Colombia.
