Result: SPORTING B 3-2 Moreirense

Sporting B ran out 3-2 winners at the Alvalade thanks to a late winner from in-form Salim CIssé. The B team had been 2-0 up but Moreirense pegged them level only for the Guinean to win the game late on.

Abel Ferreira fielded a strong B team side even with some players away on international duty. Vítor Silva made his first appearance for the B team along side Gérson Magrão and Marcelo Boeck.

Salim Cissé opened the scoring for the home side after just 10 minutes to continue his run of good form after heading in from a Gérson Magrão cross.

Magrão then went from provider to scorer to grab his first goal for the B team. It was a fantastic long range effort from the Brazilian who may now be settling into Portuguese football after an tentative start.

Sporting went into the break 2-0 up and looking relatively comfortable. The visitors had a few opportunities in the first half though with Rui Miguel hitting the post.

It was Moreirense who certainly began the second-half the stronger of the two sides. It wasn’t long before they managed to find an equaliser thanks to substitute Diogo Cunha.

Moreirense then equalised in the 77th minute through Rui Miguel and it looked like the B team may be throwing away their excellent work.

That was until once against Salim Cissé pounced, this time just 3 minutes before the end of the game, to get his 4th goals in 3 games thanks to an assist from Mauro Riquicho.

This result moves Sporting B up to 9th in the table and is their 2nd win in a row. Abel’s side will be looking to find some of the great form that served them so well in the Segunda Liga last season.
