With Rui Patrício, João Pereira (Portugal), Matías Fernández (Chile), Elias (Brazil), Stijn Schaars (Holland) and André Martins (Portugal U-21) from the senior squad all on international duty they will miss the game.

Ânderson Polga, Alberto Rodríguez, Emiliano Insúa, Jeffrén Suárez, and Oguchi Onyewu don’t travel as they recover from their injuries hopefully in time for the Taça de Portugal game with Braga. Fabián Rinaudo and Marat Izmailov are the squad’s two long-term injuries.

The squad also features several juniors but some of those players are with the Portugal-U19 squad. Rafael Veloso, João Mário, Tiago Ilori João Carlos, Bruma, Betinho, and Ricardo Esgaio all feature for Edgar Borges’s squad as they take on the Hungary U-19 team in the UEFA U-19 Championship qualifying rounds.
