Sporting travel to Vaslui knowing that an 11th straight win would ensure they top Europa League Group D.
Evaldo Fabiano and Matías Fernández got the goals in a 2-0 win when the sides met two weeks ago.
Since that match FC Vaslui have won 2 and lost 1 of their past 3 games with their most recent being an impressive 4-0 win against Tîrgu Mureş, the club Sporting player Celsinho is current on loan at.
FC Vaslui have yet to lose a home game in the UEFA Europa League and in spite of Sporting’s win in the home encounter the game in Romania will be a trickier fixture.
Domingos Paciência has some tough decisions to make in terms of his team to face FC Vaslui. Sporting have already qualified for the knock-out range and so Domingos does have the option of resting players or giving game time to players not entire match fit.
Ânderson Polga, Emiliano Insúa, and the recently returned Jeffrén have not traveled to Vaslui as a part of the match day squad, with Elias ineligible. It could could then be a great opportunity for the likes of Alberto Rodríguez, Valeri Bojinov, Diego Rubio and André Santos to get some much needed game time in the absence of other players and push for a first-team place.
The pressure if off the team going into this game but there is a massive amount of momentum in the squad’s current winning form so there is still reason for Sporting to go out and fight for the win.
Possible SPORTING XI:
