Sporting Clube de Portugal’s Taça de Portugal draw means Sporting will have home advantage of Domingos Paciência’s old previous club Braga. Alberto Rodríguez will also be facing the club he joined Sporting from back in the summer.
The draw tentatively puts the fixture for Friday 18th November a week before the trip to the Luz to face Benfica. The fixtures could change to make the game on either Saturday 19th or Sunday 20th, to keep up to date follow the Fixtures page.
The last time the two faced off in the Taça de Portugal was back in 1997, Braga winning 3-1 in extra time with Bruno Marioni scoring the goal for Sporting.
Elsewhere Porto travel to Académica and Benfica will travel to Naval.
