Sporting Clube de Portugal today confirmed that Luis Aguiar’s contract will be suspended until next June due to family problems at home.
The suspension of the contract comes with a view to securing the player some football time in his native Uruguay at the beginning of January.
An official press release from the club today confirmed the news:
“Sporting Clube de Portugal – Futebol SAD and the player Luis Aguiar have reached an agreement relative to the suspension of the contract between the two parties, until the 30th of June 2012.
In light of personal problems relating to the pregnancy of the player’s wife, Sporting Clube de Portugal – Futebol SAD agrees that returning to Uruguay, where he will play as of January 2012, is the best option for the player and will facilitate his professional recovery.

It marks another blow to a bad recent months for Luis Aguiar, since arriving to Sporting the player has had to undergo surgery and was not too far off recovery and a chance to break into the team.
Speculation is that Aguiar will return for 2012 with his former club Peñarol until reuniting with Sporting in the summer.
