Today Sporting Clube de Portugal have completed their 15th summer signing in Emiliano Insúa, the Argentina and former Liverpool left-back.
Insúa spent last year on loan to Galatasaray after failing to make an impact at Anfield. The arrival this summer of José Enrique from Newcastle United meant that playing time for the Argentine would become even harder to get, and at only 22 he still has a lot to give.
Emiliano Insúa has signed a 5 year contract with Sporting and will now have to contend with Evaldo Fabiano and Atila Turan for the left back spot.
There is no word yet on any transfer fee and for now the details remain undisclosed.
“I am delighted to start training and playing here,” Insúa told the Sporting official website.
“Sporting is one of the big Portuguese clubs and is recognised for having top players.
“The club is always looking to win titles. I will give everything for Sporting.”
Insúa has been given the number 48 shirt and could well take some part of the game at home to Marítimo on Sunday.
