Sporting Clube de Portugal have pulled off a fantastic coup with the signing of Diego Capel from Sevilla for a fee believed to be €3,500,000. The left-winger will take on the no. 11 jersey and has signed a 5 year contract with Sporting.
Capel’s contract also includes an automatic release fee of €30,000,000. Should Capel be sold at anytime Sevilla will take 20% of the future transfer fee.
The transfer had been rumoured earlier in the week but Capel did not complete his medical until yesterday and was presented officially today.
This becomes remarkably Sporting’s 12th signing this summer (including Atila Turan’s transfer which is still stuck on Grenoble’s impending financial issues). Perhaps more remarkably Carlos Freitas has claimed it many not be the last.
