Although the young defender had himself confirmed he had signed for Sporting Clube de Portugal it seems the situation is not quite as simple as that. Although the player seems to have agreed to a 5 year deal with Sporting his club, La Equidad of Colombia, seem to have other ideas.
It seems the player originally believed he was entitled to break his contract with his club but his club won’t lie down that easily:
“I began to talk to my lawyer.” Arias told radio station, Atena 2 “I presented the letter of resignation and signed a preliminary agreement with Sporting, but nothing is clear. It is still not safe to go there [Sporting].”
Now though Arieh Guberek, who appears to be representing the player in this dispute, has told A Bola that the deal is not far from being finalised.
“There is no legal impediment. We have an agreement with Sporting word that we will deliver. Moreover, we travel to Lisbon this week to formalize everything.”
“I guarantee that Arias is already Sporting player can be sure of that.”
