The transfer news is coming in thick and fast now with news that young Colombian defender Santiago Arias has signed for Sporting from La Equidad.
The player himself confirmed the deal in an interview with Radio Renascenca:
“Yes, the deal is done. It’s for five years and was completed before I came to Toulon. I’m very happy. Sporting is a big team. I know that lately they haven’t had good seasons but they always fight for the top spots. James [Rodriguez, FC Porto] told me Portugal is a great place to play football with good conditions to work.”
“I can play in midfield or defence. I defend well, but I like to attack. I’m fast and have good technique”
With Arias only having turned 19 in January it’s another young signing for Sporting Clube de Portugal as, under Godinho Lopes, the club looks more to the future.
Santiago Arias should be playing in the Toulon tournament final today at 8pm Lisbon time.
