There will no doubt be a feast of transfer activity this summer, with Godinho Lopes earlier declaring that Sporting have a €30,000,000 budget to spend from. Signing new players means players will have to go too, and Florent Sinama Pongolle seems likely to be one of those on his way out of the club, with Panathinaikos apparently interested.
According to CalcioMercato (via A Bola), the Athens club is looking at Sinama Pongolle as a possible replacement for Djibril Cissé, who seems destined to leave the club.
Sinama Pongolle is currently on loan at Spanish club Real Zaragoza, who are in a fight to avoid relegation where he has scored 4 goals in 22 games. The one-time french international has also scored 1 goal in 5 games for Sporting so far.
It would also be interesting to see Djibril Cissé in a Sporting shirt. Cissé has been trying to leave the Greek league due to racist fans in Greece.
