According to the website EatSleepSport, Sporting could be set to sign Manchester City striker Jô in the summer. City are apparently hoping to hold out for £7,000,000 (€8,000,000) – a figure that Sporting will not be willing to pay pay. City will be looking to sell this summer though, with the almost certain prospect of European football on their horizon (most likely in the Champions League) will mean City must reduce their wage bill to fit in with UEFA regulations.
It’s unclear how well Jô would play though. His best days were certainly back when he played for CSKA Moscow, although he had some relatively good stints on loan from the Manchester club.
